Why is the world we live in, unfair

Why is the world we live in, unfair

Sitting in luxury, high over the road
Inside my car, blowing cool conditioned air
Driven around my town, life passing by
Looking thru the window, hidden i spy

Honk blaring, the driver guns thru traffic
Weaving left then right, gifting an odd scare
The window, insulates me with its pane
Insecure within, but allowing me to feign

Soon i notice, my neighbor, just outside
On a bike, in the bus, or just standing there
I shiver and shudder, at the sheer vulgarity
Its loud and clear, no evading the disparity

Blood for blood, we are just the same
Shame builds inside me, tellingly unfair
There's someone outside, not that fortunate
And could this be passed, as a quirk of fate

Grant me this, when i discern these things
That i be able, willing to help and care
Guide me then, to quit thinking and act
Count my blessing, and go make some impact

Prosperity Measured

Saw this interesting table/graphic in The Hindu, this week. The title of the article will be the matter of another blog. What is interesting is the progress that India has made in the acquisition of material wealth.
For quite a many years i have been reading and hearing that Indians are typically spiritual and have a better understanding about material wealth. I quite believed then, and this is  good proof now, that we were spiritual only because wealth was non existent in India, up until the fag end of the twentieth century.

The prosperity ensued by the crass pursuit of capital, has helped bring out the true human spirit, greed. I first heard this, many years back, in my economics class, greed is the biggest driver for a prosperous economy. So i guess the wheel has begun moving, and remember, there is no getting off. Enjoy the ride fellow Indians.

'Quantitative Easing' Explained

Finally a lot of people are beginning to understand how royally their government and team is screwing them. I was introduced to this video, by my friend on facebook, and fought it both amusing as well as frightening. The latter because how true it all was.

So whats the moral of the story. Do we believe in everything, something, anything at all ?

I am India

A video from the house of BharatBala Productions.
"This film is a journey through emerging India," the fastest growing free market democracy in the world". It celebrates the relentless spirit of the people of India, who through their karma give it a place amongst the leading economic nations of the world."

A good presentation on the many different positives that is abound in India. It showcases the India of today, the India of tomorrow, an active vibrant economy, that is ready to take on the world.
Are we ?

Going Green, is not always good ?

I read, i forget which magazine now, on board a flight yesterday, that 'corn used to fill a 25-gallon vehicle tank with ethanol one time would feed one person for an entire year'. A quick search on the web showed a bunch of sites that seem to carry this message, here is one - Coop America.

The question is how do we solve this problem? The only true way, seems to be in moderation of consumption. Switch off the engine and walk !! Well, are you ready to do that? Hold on, Am i ready to do that ?

So, explain this to me !!

This short news brief reported by AFP, was carried by a lot of news sites and papers. I read it first on the front page of the Economic Times, under their 'Suddenly Something' column, which is mainly some weird or funny news from around the world.

The whole news was rather weird, but the last line of the report made it even weirder, and left me dazzled at the brilliance of the whole initiative.
More than half of all male doctors in China smoke, but the government is now trying harder to get them to kick the habit in order to set an example for others, state media reported recently.
So here is my question, the point is to stop smoking or to encourage smoking? I am not sure if i should question the judgment of the Chinese government initiative or the the possible brilliance of the reporter who first caught the story. Something is wrong somewhere. No matter which, there is a lot of room for thinking.

News: No butts: China orders officials to smoke
